excellence and an area of natural beauty.
Being a biosphere gives the Sunshine Coast further national and international recognition as well as generating niche markets for products, services, facilities and practice.
Inter-Urban Break Outdoor Recreation Plan
The Inter-urban Break (IUB) is a 63,000-hectare area that overlaps the Sunshine Coast Council and Moreton Bay Regional Council areas. The Inter-urban Break Outdoor Recreation Plan was designed to guide planning for recreation activities in this area.
A sustainable region
Sunshine Coast Council is Australia’s first local government to offset its entire electricity consumption across all its facilities and operations from renewable energy generated at the 15MW Sunshine Coast Solar Farm.
Blue Heart Sunshine Coast
The Blue Heart Sunshine Coast is an area of more than 5000 hectares on a natural floodplain in the Maroochy River catchment. It’s an innovative partnership-based region shaping project, committed to sustainable and adaptive floodplain management. It is a place, a project and a partnership.
