Expansion and upgrade
The Bruce Highway Upgrade includes three projects.
Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway
This project involved upgrading the Bruce Highway to six lanes between Caloundra Road and the Sunshine Motorway. This included major upgrades to both interchanges and the delivery of a two-way service road for local traffic on the western side of the highway between Steve Irwin Way and Tanawha Tourist Drive.

Maroochydore Road and Mons Road interchanges
Work is underway to upgrade the Maroochydore Road and Mons Road interchanges and includes an eastern and western service road between them.
Scheduled completion is late 2022.

Sunshine Motorway to Maroochydore Road
Early planning was completed in 2018 to determine the future six lane upgrade needs for this section of the Bruce Highway.
