The Sunshine Coast, Australia is uniquely positioned to allow companies to come and test and trial new tech in the real world.

The Sunshine Coast International Broadband Network (SCIBN) provides the fastest connection from the east coast of Australia to Asia and second fastest to the US.

This stunning piece of sub-tropical coastline will host seven Olympic and two Paralympic events during the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, offering an exciting moment for athletes and sports enthusiasts, but also a tremendous opportunity for tech entrepreneurs in the sports technology sector.

And in a major win for the region, the Sunshine Coast will soon be possibly Australia’s most globally connected region with the announcement late 2024 of a Google, NEXTDC and Sunshine Coast Council partnership that will deliver a second submarine broadband cable to the Maroochydore data centre.

An opportunity to test your new technology in a real-world environment.

The Sunshine Coast International Broadband Network, including the new Maroochydore City Centre digital assets, provides an opportunity for research organisations, government and business to accelerate the development of new technology software, hardware equipment and devices.
